Hey lovelies. Smile Once again, great job to everyone! Very Happy

Aaaaanyways, the story behind my new and improved counter is this: Yesterday was my two year anniversary free, and, while reflecting on my time as an SIer and all that it entailed, I realized that I no longer really remember what it was like to want to cut all the time.

I think I go more in depth about it in this ranty post I made yesterday, but basically I've found that SI is no longer a definitive part of my present. It is quickly (and happily!) becoming a part of an almost-distant past, a story of what used to be, but is no more. As such, I no longer feel the need (and haven't felt the need) to count the days since I stopped. I don't need to reflect daily on myself as an SIer, or even as a recovering one, because I'm no longer that version of me anymore. There's no need for me to ponder on my SI-ing and its effects every day of my life, and so I no longer need to count every single day since. I'll keep count of the years, I'm sure, and maybe the months for a while, but I don't need to keep track of every single day anymore. SI is part of my past. I don't need to carry it with me into the future as much as I was.

Sooooo yeah, that's my reasoning. I hope it made some sense. Razz It does to me, at least, so I suppose that's all that really matters. Very Happy

Well done, all of you

3 months and 2 weeks for me

And Drea - that's awesome. I'm really glad for you. I'm starting to know what it's like to actually recover too - my prayer is that someday, you will all know this feeling.

I didn't realize I never did this.

So, 8 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days.

Grief. That's a scary thought.

I would say being alive to celebrate my 19th birthday today was and is quite an achievement for me especially after my 16th birthday which I had never planned on living passed!

Hey girls! I didn't expect to come back here to post anything more than congratulations, but I've just realized something that makes me feel incredibly proud of myself. Smile I've said that I don't need to count anymore, and today I realized... I've completely lost count of how long it's been! It takes me at least a minute now to remember. Talk about putting the past behind you! Very Happy

Anyways, just wanted to share that happy moment with y'all. Keep fighting the good fight! There is still hope! There is always hope!

very proud

Post by Krystal on Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:21 pm

I am just in the middle of writing a long letter to my OT to give her updates and I asked her that it stay btwn me and her about how many days i haven't SI. because my OT is the first person I confessed too when I did SI in the summer. I was good for two years! then I sliped this past summer but having a ticker at the bottom of my posts really helps. =). So for me its been 4 months 1 week 5 days since I last SI. I always look in my diary if I need to know a date even tho I don't put the dates I can tell by pen marks how long and colour pen lol. It's good to be SI free. because SI is never the answer. I realize that if I keep doing it and I go to far I'd leave people behind. Thats why I am proud to say Im free of it. There is the urge once in awhile but never will I give in.
