Question I Once Asked Myself

Post by Survivor2010 on Tue Jul 05, 2011 1:30 pm

One Day I stopped doing
everything for a few minutes
I thought to myself
why am I doing this?

For those few minutes
I told myself, am I just hurting
me or am I hurting everyone else
too?

What if my little sister
was to what I am doing now?

From then on i have not picked
up a single blade, to harm myself
with.

I never want to see my little
sister go through what I
have endured.

What a lovely poem. It's cool how you bring your sister into this and how she's your inspiration to stop self harm. Proud of you Smile

My little sister is only a few years younger then me. Her innocence was never taken from her. She deserves to be a kid as long as she wants too. For me on the other hand I had to grow up fast. I had mature fast to learn how to do with my emotions. To hide my emotions. My lil sis, is everything to me. I would risk my life for her. She is my baby sis. I love her. Not everyone can say that. But I do on a daily basis. I never want to see the pained look her face like I did the last day i cut. When I saw that, it tore me to shreds so I took all my remaining blades I could find at that time and threw them in the forest that has a little pond in it. I never want her to suffer. I would give anything in the world to turn back time and redo that whole day so she wouldn't have that pained look on her face.

This is good Kelsie. So often we think that by self harming we are only injuring ourselves but in reality it hurts those who care about us and it hurts the heart of God. Our strongholds and sins can affect others in our lives GREATLY. Glad you recognized this!
